Position: Senior Backend Engineer

As early engineers at Simplotel, you will be responsible for directly interacting with customers, understanding the requirements, designing and/implementing the product feature and shipping it. Examples of key functionality include a booking/ search engine, template engine, rules engine, scaling out product on a distributed setup to address HA and scalability needs, user management, etc. We are building a global product out of India, and you can be part of this opportunity!

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Write high-performance and sustainable back-end applications using Python programming language and Django framework.

• Work closely with front-end engineers and product managers to understand the requirements.

• Implement new features and proactively optimize the existing code.

• Integrations with third party systems like Payment gateways and Channel managers.

• Fix bugs and solve problems.

• Mentoring junior backend engineers.

Skills Required:

• Deep and demonstrable experience in building web applications on Python(Django) and Mysql.

• Experience with creating RESTful JSON APIs.

• Expert in problem solving skills, algorithms and data-structures.

• Ability to understand complex systems on MVC architecture.

• Knowledge of Ubuntu, and experience in git(or any sub-version system)

• Good understanding of web technologies and good command on back-end debugging.

• Self-motivated and organized, able to handle deadlines and drive improvements.

• Expert in Linux commands and AWS basics.
